aura-1

I have a personal interest in Aura because I have the gift of seeing auras ever since I was a child. I am also a Psychic Medium, which means I can see into your aura and see how you are feeling, what kind of day you have been having, and really what has happened to you over the course of your life to this point. Of course, I don’t do this without invitation, because that would be voyeurism, and quite seriously that would not be a nice thing to do. I can also raise my vibration to speak with the spirit of those who have departed this earth, for the purposes of healing the human spirit and validating that our loved ones never really leave us, and that they are always protecting and guiding us to be our best selves.

What is Aura?
Aura is the energy field around you. All living things have an auric field. It is an energy field that is generated by your Chakras, which are energy centres in your body. The word Chakra, a Sanskrit word, one of the oldest languages on earth, means Wheel or Circle. These subtle energy centres spin with specific function to power different parts of a living being. When these Chakras are in balance, the body is healthy. When Chakras become unbalanced, we start to feel blocked, tired and ultimately it can lead to illness.

We can drill down further to a Scientific point of view. Many theories were once in place before science could prove or disprove them. Well let me tell you, science has proven that the auric field is real. There are cameras that can now take the picture of the electromagnetic field around a person. There are computers in Europe that map out your Chakras which tell you, which Chakra is out of balance, and what to do and eat to bring it back into balance. But before Science told us it was true, people were balancing and sensing aura long before it was proven. Modalities such as Spiritual Healing, Reiki, Ayurvedic Medicine, and Yoga, to name a few, were great ways to heal and sense where you were out of alignment. I think the truest test is, if YOU can feel the difference. Can you start to see improvements after some of these treat
ments and how does your life change with coming back into alignment? I think one must also be cautious of how much money these practitioners are asking you to pay. I have always been a big believer that you should not have to pay crazy amounts of money to be healed by someone guided by God/Spirit/Universe.
Back to science, everything has a vibration. All things in this Universe has a vibration. Every particle, even every thought, emotion, and word has a vibration. I believe that the human spirit is one of the highest vibrations on earth. I feel that ultimately our spirit powers our chakras. And once our spirit departs, there is no longer a generator and your chakras stop spinning. That has not been proven by science just yet! So take that last point as my personal experience and belief and feel free to do whatever you want with it.

So why is Aura so important and who cares about it anyways?! Well for one thing, everyone should care about their aura. Your Aura is a storage house of all the events, feelings, people, and emotions you have ever encountered in your life. How you deal with these things determines your Auric colour. A healthy Aura will reflect the proper Chakra colour for that region of the body. These Chakra centres show where these subtle energy centres are located, and what colour is most usually associated with them. It should be noted here that there are indeed many Chakra sy
stems, and this is only one of them. I find personally the other ones have smaller centres in the limbs, and even ones above the head and into the Universe, but for the rationale of showing aura colours, I will use the simple 7 Chakra system to prove my point.

The Root Chakra is located at the base of the spine and is responsible for your feeling of security and safety for your time on earth. It connects you to this earth plane and is what grounds you into the here and now. The primary colour is red.

The Sacrum/Sacral Chakra is located in the lower bowel, about 1-2 inches below your belly button. It is responsible for your sense of compassion, grounded intuition, our connection to others, and our ability to accept new situations and circumstances. The primary colour is orange.

The Solar Plexus Chakra is located in the stomach/upper abdomen area and is connected with our sense of confidence and being in control of our lives. That is why the saying of “having butterflies in my stomach,” is so interesting given that is where we would hold our confidence to begin with! The colour associated with this Chakra is yellow.

The Heart Chakra is located in the centre of the chest, and it powers our ability to love, to accept joy into our lives, and to create inner peace. The colour associated with this Chakra is green – I usually see it as a deep emerald green.

The Throat Chakra is located at the base of the throat and it is connected to our ability to communicate and speak our truth. The colour associated with this Chakra is blue and again I see it as, a deep rich blue.

The Third Eye Chakra is located between the eyebrows, and is connected to our ability to see beyond the here and now, to see the bigger picture. It is connected to our intuition, wisdom, imagination, and our ability to think and make decisions. This Chakra is also the Psychic Chakra – allowing one to see into a person or event with their senses wide open and see more than what meets the eye, so to speak. The colour associated with the Third Eye Chakra is indigo.

The Crown Chakra is the highest Chakra and is located on the ve
ry top of the head. It is related to our ability to stay fully connected spiritually. For a Medium, it is how we connect to the divine and how I receive my messages. Since we are all born with a Crown Chakra, we are all connected to the divine. This is what allows us all, not just Mediums, to have a sense that our loved ones who have passed on are around us. The colour associated with this Chakra is purple.

We can go into Chakras in so much more detail that we could literally write a book about it! And indeed many books have been written about these energy centres in the body. How it relates to this article is that by your Auric colour, I can tell how you feel in that moment. I focus on the head when I meet a person to see where they are at in that moment. The colour relates indirectly to their Chakras. So someone with a red aura would feel to me very passionate – they love deeply and hate deeply and are likely prone to depression. They are fiery and believe deeply in causes which they fight for and will be a loud voice lobbying for it. This could also mean that they are out of balance with their Root Chakra because they are not balancing with their other Chakras, or in other words, it could mean that it is their strongest Chakra at this moment.

Someone with an Orange Auric colour would feel to me to be a healer, someone who loves animals and gardening; some who enjoys quiet time alone, and is a good listener. A yellow Auric field would indicate they are really in tune with what they are speaking about or doing. They are on the right path and believe in what they do for a living or are doing in that moment. This week I was in California for a conference, and I met a lovely lady
at the trade show portion that had a beautiful big yellow aura. I could tell she believed deeply in what she was selling and was a champion of that cause. What she was selling didn’t resonate with me personally, but she was so alive with the way it helped people and how it could be used. Usually teachers are very yellow. If I ever take a class from a person whose Aura is not yellow, I will usually end up leaving 5-10 minutes into the class because the person is just not engaged with what they are talking about, and probably doesn’t believe in it. Same goes for sales people whose auras are not yellow. They don’t believe in their product, so why should I!

Green aura indicates to me someone who loves animals, the environment, and who loves being out doors. They are probably a camper, or likes to rough it in the wild. Green Aura people tend to have many, many friends and acquaintances, but only few extremely close carefully chosen people. Because they are so heart-centred they also tend to attract people who need attention or help but can be a bit broken on the inside. It is almost like they see the light of love and are attracted to it.

Blue Auras tend to be great speakers, workaholics, work hard and are driven. Navy Blue Aura people for me also stand out as having found their spiritual drive and passion and are on Spiritual journey that inspires them. Indigo Auras, tend to indicate people who are very intuitive and sensitive. And people with a purple aura are very creative, imaginative, pure at heart and are guided by spirit.

I also see other colours that are not described by the Chakra system. Gold means they are detached from this world – likely the cause is too much video game interaction or fantasy play, or too much meditation (yes there is such a thing if you are not grounding yourself into reality). The resulting feeling can be disconnection to the outside world. I also see pinks – a soft pink person is usually very sensitive, kind, generous, but they lack boundaries and people can take advantage of them. I see Fuchsia which is a harder pink that is more akin to the Red spectrum. Fuchsia people tend to be very sweet and kind, sensitive and love to help others, but don’t mess with them. They will either tell you politely take a hike, or smile and never talk to you again. They have boundaries and don’t try to cross them!
aura-2

You may not be able to see Aura but that doesn’t mean that you aren’t aware of it. You probably are aware of your favourite colour. Look up what that colour means about you! I think a good resource for that is www.reiki-for-holistic-health.com. You will be surprised at how accurate you may be feeling that day! We gravitate to a colour either because we need it in our lives or it is in our Aura. The colour may be therapeutic or an indicator of our mood. For example, when I was designing my marketing materials for my Mediumship business, I was surprised that everything I picked was red! Usually purple is the colour of Mediums, but I was loving the red on all my business cards, my banner, and my website. I realized that I love the grounding aspect of red. I want to be firmly rooted in reality, in science, in logic, and what made sense to everyone. I didn’t want to be this flower child, woo-woo type of Medium (and I am certainly not knocking these Medi
ums, as I know a few of them and they are wonderful Mediums and people, but it just wasn’t going to be my style). The colour red is powerful and grounding, and I find it gives me a strong base to raise my vibration and do what I have to do.

As a therapy, colour has a vibration. You should think about what it is in your life you need more assistance with. Is it feeling better about yourself, and having a stronger self-esteem – try wearing more yellow or red. If you are having trouble speaking your truth or communicating properly, try wearing blue. If you want to feel more creative or more connected with Spirit, try wearing purple and adding more purple to your surroundings. Will you
become a Medium if you start wearing Purple – probably not but I bet you will start to feel a little different. There is a subtle vibration associated with these colours, and they can start to shift things in your mindset and life ever so slightly. After 30 years of feeling like I couldn’t wear yellow, I started to wear more yellow and wow did I get compliments on it! And I noticed that when I wore yellow, I really stood out from the crowd and I was noticed. So now whenever I do a television spot or I know a television station is going to be filming, I wear yellow – or red because it is my colour too!

I think the one key concept I want to leave with you is that this is your life. Your Auric field is a storehouse of all your emotions, experiences, and people past and present in your life. But ultimately you can be aware of what is going on around you and be the instrument that creates the art piece that is your life. Yo
ur Auric field colour is one tool in that. Awareness of your body, and the colours you are drawn to can show you where your mind is at and what you may need to do to get going on the path you want to create for yourself. How you feel is directly related to choices you make every day. You control that. Experiment with colours and let me know what happens! Maybe nothing, or just maybe you will start to notice subtle changes in your life and mindset, that will lead to a whole life shift for the better.
